#mentalHealth #Wellbeing #HeavyMetalAbout
After more than 25 years working in the music industry, Mark has built up a really diverse client base.
From delivering a TedX talk on the mental health benefits of heavy metal, to his choir work with BBC’s Gareth Malone, conducting the Royal Northern Sinfonia, and leading workplace-based musical projects to improve staff wellbeing. From musical directing for Faye Tozer of Steps, to giving Lenny Henry piano lessons, and working with black metal bands like Winterfylleth (a band he ended up joining!). Mark has even written versions of songs by metal stars Sonata Arctica for symphony orchestra and choir.
Mark’s biggest passion is helping people to actively use music as a way to reduce stress and improve mental health, because the ripple effect of making music part of your wellbeing toolkit can be huge for your life, for your business, for your team, for you.
My Session is about:
Music For Your Soul in a Tech Filled World
Are we selling the power of music short?
Have we forgotten what music can do for our soul in a tech-filled world?
Whatever the style of music (including the solace he finds in heavy metal), Mark explores the therapeutic value of diverse musical genres and shows how music can have a profound impact on attendance, engagement, performance and mental wellbeing.
As the advent of technology increasingly alters the musical landscape for both creators and listeners, join Mark as he reminds us that music isn’t just a melody — it’s a lifeline, a source of empowerment and a catalyst for personal growth.
